Wagon Train

The Wagon Train project in Austin is a brilliant example of what happens when design intent and expert construction move in perfect lockstep. In collaboration with Draft & Design Co. and Fit Build, this 700-square-foot home addition and comprehensive remodel was designed to reimagine an existing space into something entirely more elevated. My goal was to use light as a tool to define the new volume of the home, highlighting the clean structural lines and the warmth of the hardwood floors that now run throughout. From the custom cabinetry to the unique geometric railing, every frame was composed to respect the materials and the intentional flow created by the design team.

Capturing the details of this six-month transformation allowed me to "read" the craftsmanship that Fit Build is known for—specifically the precision in the updated elevations and the seamless transition between the original charm and the modern addition. The symmetry in the new layout is spot on, providing a series of visual paths that lead the eye through the redefined living spaces and into the curated bathroom retreats. It was a pleasure to find the strongest compositions to showcase the scale of this build and the refined aesthetic Draft & Design Co. brought to life. Cheers to a truly successful collaboration.
